In Calgary, my home lab features a Synology NAS with 118TB of storage, serving as a media, file, and backup server, alongside two UnRaid servers with around 150TB (EACH) for additional file storage and VM hosting . I also run a Raspberry Pi-based smart display system with self developed smart display software that has actually been customized & sold to multiple companies in Canada and the United States.
In Ontario, I have a Beelink MiniPC server with 4.5TB of SSD storage, securely connected via VPN to Calgary for seamless two-way synchronization with the main NAS. This also functions as a remote VM server for several cybersecurity students. Another Raspberry Pi smart display system rounds out the setup.
Together, these systems create a robust, multi-location environment for storage, virtualization, smart home integration and of course the ability to experiment and learn on multiple virtual machines in a controlled and secure manner.
Due, in part, to the homelab environment that I've created, I'm well versed in networking, MacOS, Windows OS, M365 tenant administration, and Linux environments.
I also experiment with AWS, GCP and Azure and regularly utilize AWS in web app development (S3 buckets for example).
